How it works

Step two: clearing. We vacuum out every gutter run and clear the downpipes, working along the full length rather than just the sections you can see from the road. Debris is drawn straight into the machine.

Step three: final check. We run water through the system and confirm it flows to the downpipes and away. If a downpipe is still not taking water, you will know about it before we leave.

Ground-based vacuum clearing is our default because it is safer and less intrusive. There is no weight on your guttering, no ladder feet on soft ground or on a flower bed, and no need to come through the house to reach the rear.

Debris goes into the machine rather than over the ground, which matters if the run sits above a patio, a conservatory or planting you would rather keep. For the optional external wash we brush the outside faces down and rinse, taking off the black streaking that builds up on white plastic. If you want fascias and soffits doing at the same time, ask and we will include it in the price.

Why use a professional rather than doing it yourself

Ladder work at gutter height is where most DIY maintenance accidents happen, and gutters are usually blocked at the point that is furthest from anywhere you can safely stand a ladder. Beyond the safety side, there are two practical reasons to have it done properly.

The first is that a proper clear includes the downpipes. Scooping the visible debris out of a gutter and leaving a silted downpipe means the run floods again at the next heavy fall of rain. The second is the check at the end. Running water through the system is the only way to know it drains, and it is what tells us whether you have a blockage or a fall problem.
